  1. i would clariffy myslef as a Romantic instead of a Rationalist. i am mostly ambitious the way i think things and see things i have been told are a lot different then what other people are thinking or seeing in their head. i think its the emotional changes in life that makes you see things differently. well personally i went threw emotional changes and it made me see things differently

  2. When it comes to making decisions, a romantic might chose a side of moral obligation to one's environment, rather than an obvious gain for a rationalist. However, this does not make the romantic impractical or the rationalist insensitive. If I had to classify myself, I'd say that I was a romantic, staying close to nature and following my core beliefs that every aspect in a balanced environment should be treated with just as much importance as anything else.
Simply put, say for an asignment like this, a rationalist might find it practical to sit and design an outline for their analysis, while a romantic might take a walk and think over their own ideas in a relaxed setting. That isn't to say that romantics would never do the same as a rationalist, and vis-versa. I find that I often do things typical of both classifications, depending on the price of rice and the day of the week, but probably seven out of ten times I'd take a romantic approach.

    MAKE A CONNECTION

Humans only have one journey, one path, one life. We are given only one opportunity to make the best out of our lives and to enjoy ourselves. We are given one life to help others and achieve success. But things in nature are given more chances. For example, seasons, spring turns to summer into fall into winter every year. And every year it changes, sometimes it snows or rains and sometimes the sun is shinging. And everyday humans have the chance to change as well. Our actions and words are always different. I think that nature is trying to tell us that we only have one chance to make a difference in life which will make us work harder.

Nature is all around us. It works with us and against us but I think that I am apart of it. Nature is my friend rather than my enemy. I realize that one day everyone is going to die so I use that and try to make something out of my life. I want to help people and be successful and I know nature can help.

i see myself as a part of nature, for if i have to live in it everyday; why not be a part? i'm very happy to live in the nature that surrounds us, it is not my enemy what so ever. i live in nature whether it be sitting on the beach and taking in the oceans wonderful breeze or just walking to the bus in the morning and letting the fall wind blow through my hair. all in all i am a part of nature and try to apreciate it everyday.

Personally i agree with the positive views of the transcendentalists. every human has potential that can be tapped into allowing them to become the best person they can, most of the time people arent willing to dig deep and find that potential within themselves in order to futher education or life, so on and so forth. the dark romantics have views of a dark world, but this cant be the case because along with the bad there is always good and there are always people willing to find their potential and solve the problems that make the earth a "bad" place. i try to see myself as a transcendentialist and always strive to push myself in order to make the life i live better, sometime i fail but i always get back up and keep pushing. for example i could be sitting down right now watching tv instead of doing this assignment, but what good would that do me i would fail english not graduate and in turn not become successful in life which is the potential i have.

I also agree with the views of the transcendentalists optimistic views of human perfectability. I would consider myself to have similar views as the transcendentalists because i always push myself to do the best i can do, whether it is in school or in the real world. Ever person in the world has some kind of good in them. They may not often show it but it is there. transcendentalists believed that the physical facts of the natural world are a doorwy to the spiritual or ideal world. They believe the world around them is a clue to the afterlife that will come.

  8. This is a difficult question. I'll agree that all people have some aspect of good to be perfected within them, however, there is a lot of irrational "darkness" in the world. People have the ability to perfect a chosen quality or ability, and can even do so accidentally. Striving for perfection does not make a person perfect though. Not to mention that perfection is not the only thing that drives a person. There are good things, but there are many darker things that often motivate certain behaviors and outcomes. Hate, greed, jealousy, vengence, embarresment, and ignorance just to name the most common, are all things that drive people besides good, and perfection. Not to mention they seem to out weight good and perfection in almost any circumstance. Media, for instance, and most other reasons for communication are driven by what goes wrong, and who does the worst.
As for reality, I think I would also have to agree with the idea of the dark romantics. I am a spiritual person, but I believe spirituality has more to do with individuality and one's own sanity. You do what you have to, to keep a level head. I also believe in the power of ideas, but not that thinking alone is a reality. I also do not believe ideas and spirituality dictate an afterlife. Ideas are too easy to think of. I have millions a day. Its actions that make reality. It's which ideas a person chooses to live that makes them who they are. A true afterlife is a possitive previous life. Though I believe in Emerson's idea that a perminant reality underlies physical appearance, we only know his name today because he voiced this idea, and brought it back from silence like Plato had centuries prior.

  9. I do not agree wth the optomistic views of t ranscendentalism. I don't belive that anyone or anything is essentially perfect, or even have to potential to be perfect. I think in order to learn and grow people have to make mistakes. I believe in more of the dark romanticism because there has been expmples of disaters in our world today that could not have been ignored. For exapmle, the war going on overseas right now. thousands of men in the war are being killed eeryday and the war has been going on for years now. Life is not perfect and never will be perfect but hopefully mankind will learn from mistakes and becomes the best it can be.
